MR SPENCE HISTORY
WELCOME TO MR SPENCE HISTORY
Hello
My name is Steven Spence
I am a New Zealand-trained history teacher graduating from the University of Canterbury in 2004. I have taught senior high-school history, classical studies, and geography in New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, and China. I have held numerous administrative positions but recently have specialised in the IB Diploma's EE component. IGCSE has been taught since 2009, MYP from 2012, and DP history since 2018. I am currently an IB marker. An interest in early modern history is reflected in the unique curriculum I have designed. In 2022 I received a Masters of Arts with Merit from Victoria University of Wellington for my thesis: The Elusive Robert Carr: The Construction of a Jacobean Favourite, 1598-1612. My current contract will end in June 2024 and I will be available for employment after this date.
